Terraces
Named for the conduit William Lamb built in 1577 to bring water into the city, and now a rare thing: a central London street where the shops are all independent. Tailors and shoemakers, a bookshop, a wine shop, a stationer, and the Lamb itself, a Victorian pub with etched glass snob screens still in place. The northern half is closed to cars, with plane trees, bunting and tables down the middle.
