The best coffee in London. We only list places that take coffee really seriously.
A Lower Marsh café that roasts its own, and stays open like a bar.
Began as Scooter Works, a Vespa repair shop with an espresso machine in the corner, and the café outlived the workshop. The coffee is their own: Cable Coffee, roasted on an old machine the owners found in a French flea market, now chugging through about two hundred kilos a week at their Kennington bakery, fair-trade and organic, usually South American. Cakes and bread come from the same bakery. Open until ten on weekdays and eleven at weekends, so it does evenings as well as mornings.
