A small neighbourhood bar on Lower Marsh with a cellar shop attached, so the same bottles are there to drink in or carry out; the by-the-glass and bottle lists are long and the food is a short blackboard menu. The cellar can be booked for group tastings. Five minutes from the Old Vic, the Young Vic, the National and the BFI, which makes it a rare good pre-theatre option on that side of the river.
Mostly walk-ins - they hold back most tables and take only a couple of bookings a night. The cellar shop keeps slightly longer hours than the bar, from 14:00 Tuesday to Saturday. Closed Sunday and Monday. Dogs only at the outside table.
