Sound & Vision

St Bride's annual design conference, this year on music and how it looks.

Lecture / talkArt & design

At St Bride Foundation.

A day on the join between music and visual culture - what records, posters and videos have borrowed from each other, and what that has done to both. The bill is led by the illustrator and collage artist Jimmy Turrell, the photographer and film-maker Maria Mochnacz, who made PJ Harvey's videos for twenty years, the typographer Raissa Pardini, Penguin's Tom Etherington, and the designer Ben Kelly, who built the Haçienda.

It is held in the printing school's own building off Fleet Street, so the breaks are working ones: you print a letterpress keepsake to take away, and the interval is given over to a public argument about the best and worst album cover ever designed. In person or online, and the in-person day runs to drinks at six. £45 to £60 in the room, £35 to £50 online.
