334 steps up the Elizabeth Tower to stand behind the dials.
Guided tourHistoryHeights & views
In Houses of Parliament & Big Ben.
There is no lift: you climb the 334 steps of the Elizabeth Tower's spiral stair to the clock mechanism and the belfry, and if the timing works out you are beside Big Ben when it strikes - loud enough that ear defenders are handed out. The dials are 6.9 metres across and you stand behind them. Open to anyone aged eleven and over; adults £55, children £35, and tickets are released three months ahead on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00, which is when they go.
