Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph

Two minutes' silence in the middle of Whitehall, and ten thousand veterans marching past.

Also in Royal London.

The National Service of Remembrance: wreaths at the Cenotaph, the silence at eleven, and then the march past — thousands of veterans and their families, which takes far longer than the service and is the part most people find affecting.

Whitehall is closed and the viewing areas fill from early morning. It is a service rather than a spectacle, and it is treated as one.
