Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 11:30 and 14:30, a volunteer takes you round the ground floor: Robert Adam's library, the Dutch and Flemish pictures in the dining room, Vermeer's The Guitar Player, Rembrandt's Self-Portrait with Two Circles, Gainsborough's Countess Howe and Merlin's 1776 skeleton clock with its workings on show. £10, £5 for English Heritage Members, children free, no booking. Fifteen-minute spotlight talks run on the other days.
