Three fresh-water ponds open for swimming - the Men's at Highgate, the Ladies' at Kenwood and the Mixed by East Heath Road - fed by the Fleet and unheated, which means low single figures in February and a queue of people who swim through it anyway. Lifeguarded, with a small charge. The Kenwood Ladies' Pond has been open since 1925 and is the only women-only open-water swimming pond in the country.
