Tower of London Opening Ceremony experience

In through the Middle Drawbridge before the Tower opens, to watch the gates unlocked.

Guided tourHistory

At Tower of London.

A Yeoman Warder and an escort of soldiers unlock the gates of the Middle Tower each morning, and this is the ticket that puts fifty people on the Wharf to watch it. The rest of the morning follows from being inside early: you come in through the Middle Drawbridge rather than the main entrance, skip the admission queue, and are first through the door of the Crown Jewels.

Sunday and Monday 09:45, Tuesday to Saturday 08:45, meeting at the Middle Drawbridge on the Wharf; they ask you there a quarter of an hour before. Latecomers are not let in for the ceremony and are not refunded, though the ticket still gets them into the Tower afterwards by the ordinary gate. Fifty tickets a day, six to a booking, and the ground inside is cobbled and uneven. £62, with concessions available, and it includes admission to the Tower and the Crown Jewels.
