Ideal for a sunny day. And for a cold rainy day: "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
Swim in the Serpentine, in the middle of Hyde Park, with a lawn to lie on after.
Swimming
A roped-off stretch of the lake itself rather than a pool — open water, lake bed, lake temperature — with a paddling pool, a lawn and a café on the bank. The water does whatever the lake is doing, which means it shuts at short notice when algae blooms in the heat. The Serpentine Swimming Club has swum here every morning of the year since 1864, and races on Christmas Day.
