WWT London Wetland Centre

Forty hectares of lake and reedbed, twenty minutes from Hammersmith.

Wildlife

Also in What’s On.

Four disused Victorian reservoirs turned into a wetland reserve, and now a Site of Special Scientific Interest: bitterns and water rail in winter, sand martins and dragonflies in summer, otters in a pen you can usually see them in, and hides to sit in out of the rain. The three-storey Peacock Tower looks out over the main lake and is the hide to head for first.
