Historic interior
A Victorian corner pub given its historic protection only in 2022, for a three-room layout and 1920s panelling that CAMRA rates as nationally important. Very few pubs of this size are still in three rooms.
Five handpumps across two of them, four in the public bar and one in the saloon, and ciders and perries served by gravity straight from the cellar, several of them real. There is a covered beer garden, in flower through the summer, and screens for the sport in two of the bars.
Irish music on Tuesdays. It was a finalist for CAMRA's National Cider Pub of the Year in 2018, and has taken its branch's Pub of the Year twice and its Cider Pub of the Year three times. It changed hands early in 2025, after a very long licensee.
