Simpson's had been shut for six years when Jeremy King reopened it in March 2026, and this is the room on the first floor: an all-day cafe rather than the Grand Divan downstairs, lighter and cheaper, hung with portraits of twentieth-century playwrights. The name is borrowed from a restaurant that stood along the road at 400 Strand. A prix fixe runs through the day and a cheaper one after the theatres come out.
