Parts of the building go back to 1663, and inside it is still a run of small wood-panelled rooms rather than one bar, with a terrace that fills the moment the weather allows. Fuller's runs it now and the kitchen cooks pub food properly rather than ambitiously. A fixed-price menu was added this year.
