Aston Webb's arch of 1912 closes the Mall's vista at the Trafalgar Square end, and every coronation procession, royal wedding and state visit has passed under its central gate, which is opened only for them. The Latin across the top dedicates it to Victoria from her son; the offices inside are becoming a hotel.
