Also in Museums.
The museum in the eighteenth-century stables at Horse Guards shows the Life Guards and Blues and Royals from the Restoration to today - the cuirasses, the helmets, the standards and the horses' own kit - and, through a glazed screen, the troopers grooming and tacking up for the guard. The regiments escort the sovereign to the State Opening, the coronation and every state visit, so what is being polished here appears on the Mall the next morning.
