The palaces and the parades, and the places where the last hundred years of the story happened: where Elizabeth II was born, where Diana lived, where the balcony is. Filter by monarch or by kind.
The two parks the palace sits between, with the postcard view from the lake bridge and the site of the national memorial to Elizabeth II.

St James's Park is the oldest royal park and the one with the view: from the bridge over the lake the palace sits at one end and the domes of Whitehall at the other, with the pelicans in between, and the Mall runs along its north side for every procession. Green Park is the plain one, the shortcut from Piccadilly to the palace gates, where the Canada Memorial stands and where the government has chosen to build the memorial to the late Queen. Both are on the Diana memorial walk and both are where London stands for a balcony appearance.
