Alfies fills a former Edwardian department store over four floors and a roof terrace with around seventy-five dealers, and the street outside carries another thirteen antiques shops: Marylebone Antiques, Dorian Caffot de Fawes, Young & Son, and Aaron Nejad and Rare Rugs for carpets. Joel & Son Fabrics, which sells to couture houses, is a few doors along.
The eastern end, towards the Edgware Road, is a general street market of fruit, household goods and cheap clothing, and a different thing altogether; the antiques begin where that stops.
