Two days when the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence opens its four Nash houses to anyone who walks up.

At Royal Society.

The Royal Society has occupied 6-9 Carlton House Terrace since 1967, four of John Nash's houses of the 1830s knocked into one. For the Open House weekend the doors stand open: portraits of Fellows going back to the 1600s, among them Jonathan Yeo's of David Attenborough, and the rooms where the Society has met since it left Burlington House. Free, no booking, 10:00 to 17:00 both days with last entry at 16:30. Expect to queue at busy times.
