Almeida Theatre Tour

Behind the scenes of a converted Islington music hall, on selected Saturdays.

Guided tourHistory

At Almeida Theatre.

The Almeida opened in 1837 as a literary and scientific institute, spent a century as a Salvation Army citadel and a carnival mask factory, and became a theatre in 1980. The tour goes into the parts an audience never sees and explains how a house this small — 325 seats — keeps sending work to the West End and Broadway.
