Two hundred people in a room over a pub in Camden, and the list of who played it before anyone had heard of them.

It holds two hundred, which is the whole point of it: a band on its first London date plays to a room that is full at two hundred, and if it is any good the room knows before anybody else does. Coldplay, Amy Winehouse, Muse, the Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, Ed Sheeran, the Libertines, Keane, Kasabian, Royal Blood and Sam Fender all played here on the way up, and the list is longer than that.
It has been a music room on Chalk Farm Road since the 1980s and it went dark for years. It reopened in June 2026 under the name it had when all of that happened, with a Frank Turner show, and there is a listening bar downstairs now as well as the stage upstairs.
What is on is four or five nights a week of bands nobody has written about yet, which is a different proposition from a venue with a booking policy and a headline act. Tickets are cheap and you are meant to take the chance.
