London's stages and concert rooms: the West End houses and the playhouses that make their own shows, the grand halls, the churches with a musical life, the jazz basements, the comedy clubs, the clubs proper, and the rooms above pubs where things start. What is on is listed under each venue, and in What's On.
What is on at them this week is in What's On: Performance
Reggae, ska and Balkan brass in a Brixton pub, free most nights.
GigsLate
A large pub on Effra Road with a stage, a garden and a programme that runs to reggae, dub, ska, Afrobeat, cumbia and Balkan brass, most of it free before a certain hour. It is one of the few places in London where the bill is genuinely unpredictable and the door is genuinely cheap.
