Ayanna Witter-Johnson: New Roots First Light

The cellist-singer opens her residency with poetry, dance and a live conversation around the songs.

Classical

At LSO St Luke's.

Ayanna Witter-Johnson sings, plays the cello and writes the songs, usually all three inside the same piece, and this is the first night of her tenure as LSO St Luke's Associate Artist. The programme is drawn from her second album, New Roots, and rather than perform it straight she has built an evening around it - the poet Inua Ellams, two dancers, a band, and Ashley Joseph presenting a discussion between the numbers.

19:30 in the Jerwood Hall, finishing about 21:30. £15, £12.50 concession, plus £1.50 a transaction.
