Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons opened Omeara in 2016 in the arches of Flat Iron Square, near Borough Market, as a room for the size of act that had run out of places to play. It takes its name from O'Meara Street outside. Three hundred and fifty capacity, red velvet and dark wood, with a courtyard of bars and food around it.
Jorja Smith, Sam Fender and Mumford & Sons have all played it and Fatboy Slim has DJed in it, all of them capable of filling rooms many times the size. The operator now trades as Rae's and its site introduces the space as formerly O'Meara, while still listing Omeara as a room in its own right; the name on the door is worth checking before you go.
