The entrance is a bar on Bradbury Street, a short pedestrian row behind the Kingsland Road, and the room is downstairs. It is small enough that the performer has no amplification between them and the back wall, which suits what gets booked: solo songwriters, improvisers, experimental electronics, and music from anywhere in the world that has arrived in Dalston and needs somewhere to play.
The name is a joke rather than a description. There is jazz, but the programme is broader and stranger than that, and the reason to go is a bill you have not heard of rather than a night you already wanted. Late, cheap, and standing.
