Hidden London: Dover Street — alight here for Green Park

A station inside a station, shut to passengers since 1933.

Guided tourHistoryUnderground

Hidden London is the London Transport Museum's programme of guided tours into parts of the Underground that passengers never see: stations closed decades ago, passages sealed off during rebuilds, and deep-level wartime shelters. A guide takes you down in a small group, and the museum runs each tour on a handful of dates that are released in batches and sell out quickly, so these are booked ahead rather than turned up for.

Green Park was Dover Street until 1933, and the older station is still behind the tiles: former passageways, lift landings closed for decades, and ventilation shafts on a scale you would not guess from the platform. 85 minutes, meeting by the fountain at the Buckingham Palace exit. Selected dates to 14 March 2027, with a British Sign Language tour on 10 March 2027.
