The Soho Noble Rot, in the old Gay Hussar — and the one you cannot drop into for a glass.
Wine bar
Noble Rot took over the Gay Hussar's Greek Street rooms, kept the panelling and put one of London's best-read wine lists in them. The cooking is serious and the by-the-glass selection is unusually deep for a restaurant.
Worth knowing before you walk over: unlike Lamb's Conduit Street, their own page says there is no wine bar here and they are licensed for full meals only, so it is lunch or dinner or nothing. Monday to Saturday, 12 to 2.30 and 5 to 9.30; closed Sunday.
