What growing up outdoors has meant, from the Foundling Hospital's country nurses to now.
HistoryArt & designPhotography
At Foundling Museum.
Contemporary art, photography, archive material and historic objects on the relationship between childhood, the people who do the caring and the natural world. It has a particular claim on this museum: foundlings taken in as babies were sent out to wet nurses in the countryside for their first years, on the reasoning that London air would kill them, and were then brought back to a city they had never lived in. Free with admission.
