Jake Miller opened The Approach in the function room over the Approach Tavern in 1997 and never moved: you go in through the pub and up the stairs to a single white room that has shown Michael Raedecker, Peter Davies, Gary Webb, Phillip Allen and Sara Cwynar. The pub downstairs is a proper one, so the gallery has the best bar of any in London.
