The best baking in London. Bread, cakes, viennoiserie and patisserie worth crossing town for.
Croissants and hand-decorated doughnuts at the Aldwych end of the Strand.
Doughnuts made with pâtisserie technique — ganache or Chantilly piped in, a sablé biscuit or a macaron ring set on top by hand, £6 to £6.50 — alongside a proper viennoiserie counter: plain, almond and strawberry-cream croissants, pain au chocolat, a pain suisse Danish with wild berries. Everything is made on the premises, the dough is fried three times a day, and there are sourdough sandwiches if you want something that is not sugar.
