Elizabeth Street

Three blocks of awnings and window boxes, and a cake shop painted pink to the door frame.

Terraces

The Ebury Street corner in summer, tables out on the pavement.

A short run of shops on the Grosvenor estate that has kept a village high street's worth of trades in one of the most expensive postcodes in London: a hatter, a chocolate maker, a French bakery, a wine merchant, a butcher. The terraces are stucco below and brick above, the awnings come out in summer and the window boxes are replanted often enough to be a fixture. Ebury Street runs across the top of it, and at number 180 Mozart, aged eight and convalescing, wrote his first symphony.
