The sweet course as a destination: gelato and ice cream, cakes and patisserie, chocolate, and the dessert bars where pudding is the whole point. Bread and the morning are next door, in Bakeries.
The pink corner shop on Ebury Street, and a patisserie counter that earns the queue outside it.
Cakes & patisserieSomewhere to sit
Peggy Porschen trained as a pastry chef and made her name decorating cakes - she wrote the books on it - before opening the parlour in Belgravia, which is painted pink, dressed with flowers to the season, and photographed several hundred times a day from the pavement outside.
What is behind the front is a proper patisserie counter: layer cakes by the slice, cupcakes iced by hand, and a brunch menu served all day. Afternoon tea and the morning tea stand have to be booked; everything else is walk-in. Card only.
