Pavilion Road

A back lane of stables turned into a street of food shops, one trade to a door.

Terraces

Pavilion Road under bunting, the food shops down one side.

The service road behind Sloane Street, built for the carriages and dairies of the big houses and, until recently, mostly garages. The Cadogan estate let the whole terrace to independent food traders instead: a butcher, a baker, a fishmonger, a cheese shop, a wine merchant and a bar, each in its own small red-brick unit with the doors open. It is pedestrianised, planted, and busy with people carrying bags rather than looking at their phones.
