A Georgian street that became London's Chinatown in the 1960s, when restaurateurs moved west from Limehouse. It is pedestrianised now, with gates at either end, telephone boxes given pagoda roofs, and lanterns strung the length of it that are replaced and multiplied for Chinese New Year. The restaurants are the point: Cantonese roast meat in the windows, bakeries, and dim sum from the middle of the morning.
