The sweet course as a destination: gelato and ice cream, cakes and patisserie, chocolate, and the dessert bars where pudding is the whole point. Bread and the morning are next door, in Bakeries.
Pastéis de nata baked through the day, in front of you, and eaten within the hour.

A pastel de nata is a small custard tart in pastry laminated like a croissant, baked hot enough to blister the top; eaten within an hour of coming out of the oven it is a different thing entirely from one that has sat in a case. Café de Nata bakes all day in every shop and puts the whole process where you can watch it, which is the reason to buy here rather than off a counter.
The family business started in 2016 and has spread across London; this is the Soho one, on Old Compton Street, and it is open until eleven most nights and 00:00 on Friday and Saturday. Vegan natas as well as the classic.
