Named for Inigo Jones, who laid out the Covent Garden piazza and built St Paul's church at the west end of it in the 1630s. The passage runs from Bedford Street into the churchyard, which is a walled garden of roses and benches with the back of the church closing the view. The church is the Actors' Church, its walls covered in memorials to people of the stage, and the garden is where Covent Garden goes to sit down.
