The Ivy House

Britain's first co-operatively owned pub, saved by its regulars.

Cask ale

When the Ivy House was sold to a developer in 2012 the locals raised the money and bought it, making it the first co-operatively owned pub in the country; you can still buy shares. The 1930s interior is historically protected, there is a proper back room with a stage for live music, and the bar keeps a well-kept cask range. A community asset in the literal sense.
