Edward Green

Northampton welted shoes at the top of the ready-to-wear range, with a finish most bespoke work does not match.

The firm has made in Northampton since 1890 and the Jermyn Street shop is where the London trade buys. What sets the shoes apart is the finishing - the burnished antique colouring on the toes is done by hand, pair by pair, and no two come out identical.

Goodyear welted throughout, which means they can be resoled indefinitely; the factory will take back a pair made decades ago and rebuild it.
