The sweet course as a destination: gelato and ice cream, cakes and patisserie, chocolate, and the dessert bars where pudding is the whole point. Bread and the morning are next door, in Bakeries.
Florentine gelato under the towers at Cabot Square.
Gelato & ice cream
Badiani have made gelato in Florence since 1932, and this is the Cabot Square shop, which does most of its work at lunchtime and after work rather than on a Sunday afternoon. Buontalenti is the one that carries the name: cream, milk, sugar and egg yolk, after the Medici architect credited with the original.
