Hogwarts' interiors are mostly Oxford, Durham and the studio, but the Charms lesson in Philosopher's Stone - the feather, the swish and flick, Seamus's small explosion - was filmed in the oldest room of Harrow School, the panelled Fourth Form Room in the Old Schools building of 1615, whose walls are carved edge to edge with the names of boys who sat in it, Byron, Sheridan and Peel among them. It is a working school, so the room is seen on the guided tours the school runs a few times a year, which also take in the Speech Room, the Chapel and the War Memorial Building; The Crown filmed here too, and the village on the hill is worth the climb.
