In the film of Order of the Phoenix the red phone box that takes callers down to the Ministry stood in Scotland Place, a service alley between Great Scotland Yard and Whitehall Place with the backs of Whitehall's buildings on either side; the box was a prop and is not there. The alley is the one Harry and Mr Weasley walk down, and Great Scotland Yard at the end of it was the first headquarters of the Metropolitan Police. The Ministry has a second door round the corner: in Deathly Hallows Part 1 Harry, Ron and Hermione go in through a row of public lavatories built for the film on Horse Guards Avenue, off Whitehall by the Ministry of Defence, and flush themselves down. The two are a five-minute Ministry of Magic walk, with the real Ministry of Defence in between.
