Unforgettables: poetry, music and memory

Ghazals by Ghalib and Majaz, sung rather than read.

Books & writers

At The Nehru Centre.

The ghazal is a form of couplets on longing and loss that has carried from Persian into Urdu and Hindi over a thousand years, and it lives as much in performance as on the page. Swarankrtiti's programme takes Mirza Ghalib, the greatest of its poets, alongside Majaz and Qamar Jalalabadi.
