John Berger was born in 1926 at 1 Filey Avenue in Stoke Newington, a short walk from the cemetery gates, and went on to more than forty books, a Booker Prize, and films. Lisa Appignanesi, his friend and collaborator for a lifetime and a former chair of the Royal Society of Literature, is in conversation with the writer and social historian Ken Worpole about work that has grown more pointed rather than less. In the restored chapel, 19:00 to 21:00, with a bookstall from Burley Fisher Books.
