Two and a half hectares on the east side of the railway between Forest Hill and Sydenham: woodland, and a pond with newts and dragonflies in it. A length of the Croydon Canal survives here, which is more than survives almost anywhere - the canal closed in 1841 and the London and Croydon Railway bought its bed to lay track along. Lewisham owns the reserve and the Friends group opens it on the last Saturday of the month, from one until four.
