Swimming
The largest fresh-water swimming pool in the country, open since 1906, and about as far from a municipal pool as an outdoor pool gets: ninety-one metres by thirty-three, ringed by a hundred and fifty individually painted changing cubicle doors in primary colours. Unheated and unshaded, so the water follows the weather. Through the winter it belongs to the South London Swimming Club, who have been swimming in it since 1906 and host the UK Cold Water Swimming Championships here.
