The Idler is the restaurant of the July, the serviced apartment building on Vauxhall Bridge Road, and it runs as a deli as well as a dining room. The cooking is British with the Mediterranean pulling at it: anchovies with garlic and parsley, octopus with romesco. The menu is divided into Land, Sea and Earth rather than into courses. A set menu runs at twenty-three to twenty-eight pounds.
