The people who publish Frieze own it, which accounts for the Wolfgang Tillmans on the wall and four decades of exhibition posters behind the bar. The cooking is Mediterranean and unfussy - bruschetta, a Dover sole with fennel and anchovy - and the terrace catches a piece of the Thames. It is named for Alice B. Toklas, who wrote a cookbook.
