Greenwich Park

The oldest enclosed royal park, on the hill above the palace where Henry VIII and Elizabeth I were born.

Down the hill, over the Queen's House to Canary Wharf.

Greenwich Palace, the Tudors' favourite, stood where the Old Royal Naval College is now, and the park behind it was theirs; Charles II's Royal Observatory on the hill gave the world its meridian and the view from the statue of Wolfe takes in the Queen's House, the Naval College and the Thames. The Crown used the college's baroque courts below for palace scenes.
