Guided tours worth booking: walks led by people who know the streets, and the bus, river and cycling tours that earn their fare. Each is drawn on the map as the ground it covers, from where it meets.
The canal basin where the Grand Union meets the Regent's, and the stucco streets around it.
Wed 11:00 · Sun 14:00Walking
Where the Paddington arm of the Grand Union joins the Regent's Canal there is a triangular pool with an island in it, narrowboats moored along both banks and a run of white stucco villas behind. The walk covers the basin, the towpath and the streets that were built when the canal was a working artery rather than a view, and explains how the name arrived long after the water did.
