Guided tours worth booking: walks led by people who know the streets, and the bus, river and cycling tours that earn their fare. Each is drawn on the map as the ground it covers, from where it meets.
Shakespeare's London with a lutenist playing the music as you go.
Every Saturday, 11:30Walking
The theatres Shakespeare actually worked in were north of the river before they were on Bankside, and this walk covers that ground - the Theatre in Shoreditch, the halls, the parish churches - with a musician carrying a lute and playing the settings that would have been heard in them. The music is the point rather than a novelty: it is what the plays were written around.
Adult £20, students and seniors £15, children £5
